Program: The goal of the Fashion Design program is to develop creative and innovative designers equipped with the techniques of fine craftsmanship, attuned to the needs of the consumer, and armed with a strong business awareness and background. Draping, pattern drafting, and construction are used to develop new concepts and to refine and develop the student's individual skills and talents. The student can perfect the skill of working with equipment through the use of industrial machines, cutting tables, and dress forms. The University's fashion show production classes produce dazzling productions that provide an opportunity for AIU to showcase student designs.

Program: The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design offers advanced courses in pattern drafting, computer-aided design, couture clothing construction, and fashion marketing and trend analysis. They will experiment with colors, patterns, textures, functions, and styles in the development of their creative skills. Students will create original patterns and garments in response to researched market trends, manufacturing specifications, estimated production costs, and creative conceptualizations. They will have opportunity to explore specialized topics in fashion that will help prepare them for a variety of professional fashion industry careers. Students will create a professional portfolio and may qualify to participate in the University's fashion show that features student designs.
